Waste Management at Uluru
Current Waste Management Systems
Currently the water collected from all the washrooms and kitchen of the Children's Home is treated and stored in ponds for use in the gardens.
This includes both black water and grey water being treated together, thus restricting usage to only gardening.
Waste Management Systems - Future Plans
The new buildings are all being planned with collection and purification measures for the waste water. ​
The plan is to channel all grey water into the ponds built for water collection for watering the garden and fields
Plans are also underway to manage the black water collection system and to complete the above ground waste water treatment pond.
