Access to affordable health care is transformative for families living in rural areas of India, where public hospitals are often too far away and private healthcare is simply unaffordable. Recognising this need, TEWFI established the Uluru Health Care Centre (UHCC) in 1998. The centre has become a trusted primary health clinic, now serving over 40,000 people in the Kanchipuram district of Tamil Nadu.
Each week, a dedicated team comprising a doctor, five nurses, two social workers, and an on-site pharmacy provides medical care to approximately 200 patients. Without this service, many of these individuals would not have access to essential treatment.
